Each Local Section may nominate one student presenter to be considered for a $500 travel scholarship to attend the ACS Southwest Regional Meeting (SWRM). Very large sections are allowed two nominations. The deadline to submit your local section’s nomination is October 24th. Submit the completed form at the link below and send a nomination letter to . APPLY FOR A TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIP
Up to 10 travel scholarships in the amount of $500 are available for student presenters. To apply students should fill out the linked form, and submit their abstract to their local section leader by October 20th (Follow the link to look up local section: https://lslookup.acs.org/lslookup/local_search). Each section may nominate one student (large sections 2 students), whose application and abstract will be passed along to Awards Chair Stephanie Jones () by October 24th , 2023. The Award Committee will then select 10 winners who are up to date on their dues, and the student winner’s local section will be notified by November 3rd, 2023.
Following successful presentations, the Region treasurer will send the check for $500 to the local section who will in turn award $500 to the winning students to help reimburse their travel costs.
