The Recipients of the 2010 Doherty and Schulz Awards were selected.

2010 Doherty Award Recipient: Jeff Coffer, PhD, professor of
chemistry at Texas Christian University
and
2010 Schulz Award Recipient: Jennifer L. Cruze of Carroll HS in
Southlake.
Meetings to honor the awardees will be held in the Fall.

on! Your DFW local section still seeks candidates for Chair-Elect
2011 (Chair 2012, Past-chair 2012), Treasurer (2-year term, Alternate Councilor (3years, subs for councilor at Nationa meetings, if required).

April 15, 2010 is the Deadline to nominate a deserving high school
chemistry teacher for the 2010 Werner Schulz Award.
April 15, 2010 is the deadline for nominating an important local
section chemist for the 2010 Wilfred T. Doherty Award.
ACS DFW will honor the Awards Recipients in the fall of the 2011 school year. Recognition includes an Award Meeting - including a
seminar by the Awardee, a portrait in the Schulz Gallery at Tarleton University or the Doherty Gallery at UTD, and a financial award. The
Schulz Awardee's school is offered the Schulz traveling plaque to display for the year after the Schulz is received. In addition,
Schulz and Doherty Recipients are nominated for the SouthWest Regional Teaching Award and the SouthWest Regional Award for excellence in
chemistry, respectively, which will be presented at SWRM 2010. This year's SWRM will be held in New Orleans, LA.
Submit nomination forms on or before the March 31st deadline to:
